Do You Qualify?

The National Innovation Visa is for exceptional individuals. To be successful, you must show that you meet these key requirements.

Innovation & Experience

You must have a proven track record of success in business or innovative activities that will help grow Australia's economy, culture, or global reputation.

International Recognition

You need to show that you are an internationally recognized leader in your field (like academia, sports, arts, or a specific profession) and are still currently active.

Age & English

You generally need to be under 55 years old (unless your project is of exceptional value to the country) and have at least basic, "functional" English skills.

Health & Character

Like all permanent visas, you and any family members applying must pass strict Australian health checks and provide police clearances to prove good character.

The Application Process

Step 1

Find a Nominator

An eligible person or organization must officially attest to your achievements (Form 1000).

Step 2

Expression of Interest (EOI)

Submit your EOI to the government outlining your skills, proposal, and value to Australia.

Step 3

Formal Visa Application

If your EOI is accepted, you can officially apply, submitting all financial and business proof.

Step 4

Visa Decision

After health and character checks, the Department will grant your permanent residency if successful.
