Understanding the Prospective Marriage Visa

The Subclass 300 Visa is the perfect pathway for couples who are engaged and ready to commit to a life together in Australia, but haven't yet reached the requirements for a full Partner Visa.

It is specifically designed for people outside of Australia to come to the country to marry their Australian fiancé. Unlike a standard visitor visa, it gives you the right to work and study immediately, allowing you to settle in and start your new life while you prepare for your wedding ceremony.

The primary requirement is that you must have met your partner in person and be able to demonstrate a genuine intention to marry. We help you gather the unique evidence required for fiancés, ensuring your story of commitment is told clearly and effectively to the Department of Home Affairs.

What You Need to Prove

As an engaged couple, your evidence is slightly different than that of a married or de facto couple.

Meeting in Person

Photos together, travel records, and tickets proving you have physically met each other at least once.

Ongoing Contact

Chat logs, emails, and phone records showing you are in constant communication while separated by distance.

Wedding Plans

Venue bookings, invitations, receipts for rings, or a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) from a celebrant.

Social Support

Statements from friends and family members who know about your relationship and your plans to marry.
